The art of movement

Rebecca is one of many wonderful therapists who will be joining Sue and Jeff on the Spanish coast for the 2023 Vital Health Retreat, March 28 – April 2. Here she describes the movement therapy she will be offering:

Spiraldynamik® has been accompanying me for more than 25 years in my daily life, and in my profession. Spiraldynamik® is an anatomical model of movement that integrates the evolution of the human body. This model proposed by Dr. Christian Larsen and Yolande Deswarte is already widely used in German-speaking countries.

In this model, every movement is the result of bone and muscle rotations. Pain in the musculoskeletal system can indicate that too much rotation, too little rotation or the wrong direction of rotation has been established in the body.

Knowing the different possibilities of rotation in the musculoskeletal system can provide clarity and relief. As a young girl, I already had very severe back pain. For years I tried to get rid of this pain with physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy and many other means. I always succeeded, but the pain always came back.

When I discovered Spiraldynamik® at the age of 29, I already had a long therapeutic journey behind me. It took me another two years to find my balance and to stop suffering. Even today, my lower back is still a sensitive area, but I can say that my back has been 95% pain-free for over 20 years.

Spiraldynamik® saved my career as a dancer and dance teacher and it is also thanks to Spiraldynamik® that I can now show and teach people what the musculoskeletal system needs, both in my group classes and in my individual consultations. Whether it’s back, knee, foot or shoulder problems, the conceptual model is applicable throughout the body.

It is a skill that has a place in my work, both preventively and therapeutically. Spiraldynamik® deepens my dance work in an enriching and meaningful way and is a ray of hope for people who come to me with musculoskeletal pain.

Precise movements give them understanding, clarity and logic for their individual anatomy. The exercises help to establish a new awareness of posture and body, adapted to everyday life.

I look forward to sharing my passion and knowledge with interested people at the Vital Health Retreat in Spain. Whether in a group or in individual consultation, Spiraldynamik® has a profound effect:

for the body

through the body

in the body and

beyond the body –

a profound adventure with the body
