I can remember many incidents when I got caught up in politics in one form or another – politics within the family, the company or around work and of course country and world politics. Some people might say they don’t do politics, but then they do soaps, which then become their form of politics. It is always a rabbit hole we go down and around and around so things become more fragmented until we live in a world of good, bad, right and wrong – basically a world of conflict. No one it seems comes out of this feeling good or if they do maybe not for long and it all seems so meaningless.
What pulls me out of this place is when I connect with someone who is in a difficult life situation, a life threateningillness, massive loss, a moment of unhappiness or a tiff with a friend. It gives me an opportunity to extend myself to connect on such a human level. It is not about judgement or right and wrong. It is just about our human experience and willingness to share love and whilst I might or might not help others by my extending, I certainly help myself and I feel good when others extend themselves to me when I am having an off day.
I get that there are many people in the world doing many things to make it a better place. But I feel we are missing a step! The step missing is that it is first for us to learn to love the world exactly the way it is and that includes everyone on it. It means giving up our judgements or prejudices, our sense of being right or even wrong and learn to just be. It is so easy for us to fill our world with shadow figures and become so righteous, but this locks us into the problems, we then become just another figure in our march into conflict.
To learn to love the world as it is is to win back our humanity, forgiveness, wonder and to raise our consciousness, so in time we win back our divinity, for it is only through our humanity that we will reach our destiny and then the wonder will turn to awe, our forgives to compassion and our happiness to joy.
